For my passion project I’ve decided to teach/learn about Native American Legends and maybe a bit about their culture in the process. Something I wanted to know was;

• Did they believe in any mythical types of creatures?

What I plan to do – after introducing the topic – is ask whether or not anyone had known anything about the topic, I don’t expect too many people to know, I’d just explain the short of it. Then go into the actual legends, putting up any pictures that related to the legend, if there were any.

For the activity, I’d use the concept of a Native American legend, creating a game out of it, letting people get into 5-6 groups. I’ll have five different coloured butterfly pictures in a hat, I’ll get someone from each group to draw one out of the hat (Each different colour meant something different), they don’t show the other groups the colour butterfly they got, it’s like a game of charades, the group has to act out the thing the butterfly means.
